Get SUDO Access om normal user account || Debian/Ubuntu
It tough to type 'su' command and that long root password again and again, and it also compromises the security of you system.
Keeping the root password short or same as normal user password can also compromise or weaken your security and privacy.
Under such circumstances, a 'sudo' command is the best alternative. But you need to install 'sudo' before you can use it. Process is simple.

How to Install Debian 10.3 in Windows 10 || The Simple Way
There are hundreds of ways to install Debian on a system which confuses new people who are installing Linux for the first time on their system. This blog aims at making you a Linux and especially the Debian distro expert. There are further many OSs bases on Debian distro that you will master along, like the famous Kali.
To install Debian on a system with Windows 10 installed, you can either dual boot or install over the existing windows 10. We will be Dual Booting in this tutorial but you can install it over Windows 10 by changing just one step.
My OS Specs:
To install Debian on a system with Windows 10 installed, you can either dual boot or install over the existing windows 10. We will be Dual Booting in this tutorial but you can install it over Windows 10 by changing just one step.
My OS Specs:
- ASUS PC and a typical Asus BIOS
- amd64 Processor
- Windows 10 1909
- Debian Buster 10.3
Though the process is similar in most cases.
The common sense steps like backing the data up in a Hard Drive or cloud will be skipped.
Step 1: Downloading ISO Image of Debian
If you open the Debian website and click on "Getting Debian" option, you might scare yourself looking at the wide variety of installation methods and media. I will broadly classify them below:
- Small Installation Image: Gives you the minimal OS to install and boot. The required packages and stuff needs to be downloaded over internet later.
Pros: Really Small Installation size (~300MB).
Cons: Need to download required packages later. The system initially has zero stuff. - Complete Installation Image: This one is heavier to download at first but contains at least some important required packages in the beginning.
Pros: Supporting packages included in the beginning.
Cons: Bigger Installation image (~3.7GB) - Non-Free Images: These contain non-free packages for linux that you will require for some type of hardwares.
Pros: Non-Free drivers that may be essential.
Cons: Even larger download file size.
Apart from all these we have Live Install, but we won't cover it as its not a permanent installation method but only for testing purposes and Net Install that requires a good internet connection during installation to download all the essential stuff. Net Install method is used by Small Installation Image.
In this post we will cover the second and the most efficient method of download (well... efficiency depends from person to person) which is Complete Installation Method.
Cut to the chase and click on Complete Installation Image option under Download an Installation Image. Again the number of options are scary but just skip to this link and just know that:
Modern 64-bit processors: amd64
Modern 32-bit processors; i386 & if you have another processor you must know it.
A CD Download size is 650 MB and DVD download size is 3.7-4.4 GB. I recommend DVD but choose any one of them and click the processor architecture to proceed with the download.
Now on this screen:

scroll down to this:
Now here select debian-10.3-iso-1 in my case, you version may be different. You will be given a torrent. The other ISO files are only more packages that you may install anytime. In case of DVD there are almost 16 of these ISO out of which the official site hosts only 3 of them. Rest can be obtained through jigdo tool.
To download a torrent download the uTorrent software or any other torrent client.
Step 2: Download Rufus
Official Site: Rufus
Just go over to the site and download Rufus for your System.
Step 3: Setting up the USB
Insert the USB and open Rufus.
Select "Disk or ISO Image" in 'Boot Selection' and select the ISO Image downloaded in step one.
Select "GPT" in partition scheme and "Fat32" in 'File System'.
Leave the rest to default and click READY.
Step 4: Installing Debian !
Boot into the system using USB or DVD whatever device you are using. You will have to change boot priority in BIOS for that or change through boot manager if your system have one. Its easy, there are plenty of YouTube videos if u need one. I will create a blog or video on that soon. Just click Esc, F2, F11, F12 or Del button when your pc starts to open BIOS or boot manager. My PC shows boot manager on hitting "ESC" and BIOS on hitting "DEL" when ASUS Logo shows up.
If you've entered BIOS successfully use arrow keys to get to the Boot tab then in Boot Priority change the first one to USB or DVD whichever device you are using to boot. Press F10 Key to save and restart.
Once you've booted up in the USB you will see the Debian Installation Menu offering you various options for installation. Graphical Installer in the easiest. Go on with your conscience and choose what you like.
Rest of the process is pretty straight forward. And there are many YouTube Videos for that, so we will not cover it here. Watch my YouTube video to do the steps along. The video is coming out soon and will be available on this blog post.
